In part because of the NFL coverage schedule for CBS, many will be curious to find out whether they get Steelers vs. Ravens on their local TV channel Sunday. Save for a chunk of the mid-southern part of the country, Steelers and Ravens fans who live outside of the regions that encompass Pittsburgh and Baltimore will get other games.
Which is a bummer for those fans, because Steelers vs. Ravens in Week 5, a game scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, became more important when Pittsburgh got its first win of the season a day after Baltimore fell to 2-2 last week. The AFC North remains wide open.
The Steelers got here on the strength of their running game and defense, yes, but quarterback Mason Rudolph deserves some credit. He completed 24 of 28 pass attempts for 229 yards, 2 TDs and a 124.6 rating last week to earn his first career victory as a starter. It also marked Rudolph’s third consecutive game with 2 TD passes. With at least two more Sunday, Rudolph would become the third player in NFL history (Jay Cutler, Mark Rypien) to pass for at least 2 TDs in each of his first four career games.
WEEK 5 NFL PICKS:
Against the spread | Straight-up predictions
Yet the more notable QB in Sunday's game is Lamar Jackson. The Ravens QB, who is tied for the league lead with 10 TD passes, also leads all QBs with 238 rushing yards this season. Including his 695 rushing yards last season, Jackson now has 933 career rushing yards in 20 career games. With 67 rushing yards against the Steelers, he would tie Robert Griffin III (21 games) as the fastest QB to reach 1,000 career rushing yards in NFL history.
Per Sportsbook Review, the Ravens are entering Sunday's game as 3 1/2-point favorites over the Steelers. Sporting News predicted a Ravens victory in our picks against the spread and a Steelers victory our straight-up picks.
