Steelers-Rams game delayed after Edward Jones Dome turf catches fire image

Todd Gurley's NFL debut had to wait just a bit longer after the start of Sunday's game between the Steelers and Rams was delayed by a fire on the field. After putting out the fire, stadium crews then had to clean up the water and chemicals from fire extinguishers used in the process. No injuries were reported.

The pyrotechnics used during the introductions of the Rams players ignited flames on the artificial turf at the Edward Jones Dome.

The fire was put out and vacuum cleaners were used to get rid of any residue left on the field. Instead of a 1 p.m. ET kickoff, the game kicked off nearly 30 minutes later — giving the late-arriving St. Louis crowd a little more time to file into their seats.
