Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell’s suspension by the NFL for missing several drug tests has been reduced from four games to three, according to multiple reports.

STEELE: At least Steelers can rely on Williams

This is the second consecutive season Bell has had a suspension reduced. In 2015, his three-game ban for violating the league’s substance abuse policy was reduced to two games. That suspension was a result of his arrest for marijuana possession and a DUI in 2014.

Despite losing Bell for three games, the Steelers are in good position to play without him. Last season, the team brought in veteran DeAngelo Williams, who ran for 907 yards in 10 starts after Bell missed most of the season due to injury.

Bell, who blamed the missed tests to a new phone number, will miss games against the Redskins, Bengals and Eagles.
