Sebastian Janikowski announces retirement: 'It was a good run' image

Kicker Sebastian Janikowski is calling it quits after 19 seasons in the NFL.

The veteran spent nearly all of his time in the league with the Raiders, including their 2002 Super Bowl season, but finished his career with the Seahawks in 2018.

“It was a good run. I still think of the Super Bowl — it still hurts,” he told ESPN.

Janikowski, also know as Seabass, told ESPN he "plans to turn into a cab driver, driving his three girls to school." In his long career, Janikowski made more money than any other kicker in NFL history.

Janikowski made reference to Super Bowl 37, where the Raiders lost 48-21 to the Buccaneers. It was one of just nine playoff games for the kicker.

Janikowski, 41, was 436-of-542 on field goals and 605-of-614 on extra points in his career. The 436 made field goals ties Janikowski with Jason Elam for ninth in NFL history.
