Seahawks vs. Panthers: Score, results from Week 12 game in Carolina image

The feet and right arm of Russell Wilson, along with a little luck, gave the Seahawks an enormous 30-27 victory over the Carolina Panthers that shook up the NFC postseason picture.

Seattle (6-5) trailed for most of the game, but took advantage of a missed Graham Gano field goal with 1:40 left to play and drove down the field to give Sebastian Janikowski an easy 31-yard field goal as time expired to win.

On the final possession, Wilson scrambled out of pressure and found Tyler Lockett for a 43-yard gain that set up the Janikowski kick.

Seattle also had some heroics when it took a chance with a home run ball on a fourth-and-3 earlier in the fourth quarter. It paid off on a perfect pass by Wilson to David Moore for a 35-yard touchdown.

The Panthers (6-5) failed to get separation for one of the wild card spots and are now more even with the packed crowd jostling for the final two positions. They received a big game from Christian McCaffrey (237 yards from scrimmage, two touchdowns), but ultimately made too many mistakes, including an interception by Cam Newton in the end zone that prevented them from extending their lead in the third quarter.

Seattle's win prevented the Rams from clinching the NFC West, although it seems like it's only a matter of time until that happens.

Sporting News provided live updates of the Seahawks last-second victory.

4:02 p.m.: Wilson escapes the pressure and Lockett gets behind the coverage and makes the catch on a third-and-5 for 43 yards down to the Carolina 10. Seattle will take a knee to run the clock down and set up a Janikowski field goal attempt as the last play of regulation.

4:00 p.m.: It's no good! Graham Gano misses the 52-yard field goal and the Seahawks will take over with 1:40 on the clock.

3:59 p.m.: Carolina is stopped about four yards short of a first down and will have to kick with 1:42 left to play.

3:54 p.m.: Carolina is driving the ball in Seahawks territory as the game reaches the two-minute warning.

3:47 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN, SEAHAWKS. Seattle goes for the home run ball to David Moore in single coverage on a fourth-and-3 from the Panthers 35 and it pays off. This game is tied up again with 3:26 to play. Panthers 27, Seahawks 27

3:35 p.m.: Crazy drive for McCaffrey, and it's not even over. He runs for 15 yards down to the 1, then fumbles on the next play trying to stretch the ball into the end zone. Panthers recover and will keep the ball.

3:33 p.m.: McCaffrey attacks a wide open hole for a 59-yard run to start Carolina's drive. He has 226 yards from scrimmage.

3:29 p.m.: FIELD GOAL, SEAHAWKS. Seattle doesn't gain anything after the conversion, leading to a 30-yarder from Sebastian Janikowski to tie it up. Seahawks 20, Panthers 20

3:26 p.m.: After Thomas Davis makes a big stop on a third down, Seattle goes for it on fourth-and-1 and converts to move the chains. The Seahawks have the ball inside the 15.

3:20 p.m.: Mike Davis loses the ball on a run in Carolina territory, but it was reviewed and determined he was down first.

End of third quarter: Panthers 20, Seahawks 17

3:06 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN, PANTHERS. Carolina gets down to the goal line on a defensive pass interference, and McCaffrey follows it will short touchdown to reclaim the lead. Panthers 20, Seahawks 17

3:04 p.m.: Newton connects with Christian McCaffrey on the next play on a screen pass that goes to the Seahawks 11. Carolina is in business.

3:02 p.m.: On a third-and-2 from the opposing 44, Newton picks up nine yards with a clutch run to keep the drive alive.

2:55 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN, SEAHAWKS. Tyler Lockett scores on an 11-yard pass from Wilson. He was originally ruled down at the 1, but the play is reviewed and reversed, giving him six points. The Seahawks lead for the first time today. Seahawks 17, Panthers 13

2:52 p.m.: On a third-and-2, David Moore slips by the defenders and gets wide open, making a 54-yard reception. Seahawks are inside the 10. That play followed what looks like Chris Carson's gymnastics highlight tape.

Halftime: Panthers 13, Seahawks 10

End of first quarter: Panthers 3, Seahawks 0

1:31 p.m.: FIELD GOAL, PANTHERS. Newton completes passes to D.J. Moore and Jairus Wright for 28 and 25 yards to begin the drive, but McCaffrey is stuffed on third-and-short and the Panthers settle for a short field goal by Graham Gano. Panthers 3, Seahawks 0

1:26 p.m.: Seattle's offense stalls once again, as Chris Carson's 16-yard run to start the drive is quickly forgotten after the Seahawks gain just three more yards. Russell Wilson has started this game 0-for-3 through the air.

1:14 p.m.: Facing a fourth-and-two at the Seattle 5-yard line, Carolina goes for it and Cam Newton is stuffed before he can move the chains. The Panthers challenged the call on the field, but it stands and they turn it over on downs.

1:11 p.m.: Christian McCaffrey has been very involved with the Panthers' opening drive. He has two carries for 22 yards and two catches for 14 yards. Carolina is in Seahawks territory.
