The Seahawks say it's not time to panic, but it is time to get focused.

Seattle coach Pete Carroll held a team meeting recently in which he told his team to focus on finishing games better. The Seahawks are 2-3 following Sunday’s 27-23 loss to the Bengals.

“It’s time to lock in and get serious and focus on the little things and doing the right things longer. That’s what our definition of finish is: doing the right things longer than our opponent,” Seahawks safety DeShawn Shead told ESPN. “That’s the key to winning these games."

Seattle is no stranger to slow starts — the team started last season 3-3 before going to the Super Bowl — but it’s how the Seahawks have lost that has been unsettling to Carroll. Seattle has had the lead in the fourth quarter of each of its three losses.

This week they are facing the unbeaten Panthers, who are coming off of a bye week.

"What we need to do is we need to pick up on the positive things that have been happening for us, the good things that we’ve been getting done," Carroll said. "There are some things that we can try differently in subtle ways. We’re just looking for a play here or there."
