Seahawks schedule 2020: Dates & times for all 16 games, strength of schedule, final record prediction image

The Seahawks have never had a losing season in Russell Wilson's eight years as their starting quarterback. They have missed the playoffs only once with him and are trying to make it three consecutive postseason trips when they get a chance to navigate their 2020 schedule.

That schedule has officially arrived, putting dates and times with all of Seattle's slated matchups this season. The Seahawks will be looking to build on an 11-5 last season that saw them fall just short in the NFC West race, giving them the conference's top wild-card berth.

The Seahawks remain strong offensively and true to their run-heavy, throw-downfield identity around Wilson. Defensively, they put together a sound secondary to recover from "The Legion of Boom" breakup, but they have been weakened in the front-four pass rush.

Will Seattle win enough again to at least return to the playoffs and vie for its first division title since 2016?

Here is a complete breakdown of the Seahawks’ 2020 schedule, including dates, start times and analysis for all 16 games.

The Seahawks and 49ers once again should battle to decide the division. The Rams are bound to fade a little, and the Cardinals can take a few steps forward, but the marquee matchup atop the NFC West that ruled the early part of the decade is back to be one of the league's most compelling, must-see series.

Once again, elsewhere in the NFC, the Seahawks have big dates with the Cowboys and Vikings, both at home. When they're not in division play on the road, they have all five games in the Eastern time zone.

Drawing the NFC East and AFC East beyond their own division is an interesting combination. The Patriots-Seahawks Super Bowl 49 rematch isn't quite the same without Tom Brady, Marshawn Lynch and Malcolm Butler, but it's still a great matchup of wily old coaches Pete Carroll and Bill Belichick.

Seahawks' strength of schedule

Based on the combined 2019 record of its 2020 opponents (129-125-2), the Seahawks are tied with the Bears for the 13th toughest schedule. That makes sense, counting the NFC-champion 49ers twice and getting the Cowboys, Eagles, Vikings, Patriots and Bills outside the division.

The Seahawks face five fellow returning playoff teams in all. When projecting how tough their upcoming slate really is, the difficulty remains about the same, with an equal amount of teams they play being either better or worse.

Toughest tests: The Seahawks know both 49ers games will be tough. The Cardinals and Rams also have made things harder on the Seahawks of late.

When they get out of the division, the Seahawks' hardest games are against the Bills and Eagles (a playoff rematch) on the road. The Falcons also present a trap game. There's a little room between the Cowboys and Vikings games, but those matchups figure to be fourth-quarter battles with a lot of points being scored in Seattle.

Biggest breaks: The Seahawks might need to play at least part of season without their loud home crowd, but Seattle is still a tough road trip for opponents. The Seahawks will be favored there against the Cardinals and Rams, but there's no doubt the two New York games at CenturyLink Field are the easiest. The Patriots, traveling a long way without Brady, come in third easiest.

The Seahawks tend to be a strong far-away team with Carroll, always well prepared for East Coast starts. To that end, they get a couple favorable spots with the Dolphins in Miami and the Redskins in Washington.

Bottom line: The Seahawks will be in every game because of Wilson. They will still run the ball effectively and work to play complementary defense. They will play with a lot of energy and fight under Carroll, leading to their usual run of close games.

Are they capable of making the transition from one-possession masters to consistently controlling opponents like they did in Wilson's early years? It's unlikely, given the division is tough and they have some new defensive concerns. Expect another winning season, but a finish that is still more wild-card worthy in a loaded conference.

Record prediction: 10-6
