Russell Wilson won't miss any time if he can help it.
An MRI exam Monday revealed the Seahawks quarterback sustained a sprained MCL in his left knee during Sunday's win over the 49ers, coach Pete Carroll confirmed on KIRO-AM.
Nonetheless, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports the team is optimistic that Wilson will be ready to play Sunday on the road against the Jets.

"He's in good spirits, just like you would think," Carroll said. "He has no intention of thinking anything other than that he's playing."

Wilson suffered the injury when he was sacked in the third quarter by 49ers linebacker Eli Harold, who fell onto Wilson's leg and caused Wilson's knee to bend awkwardly. Although Wilson finished the series, backup Trevone Boykin entered the game in his place on Seattle's next possession with the Seahawks holding a 27-3 lead. The team eventually escaped with a 37-18 victory without Wilson.
"I don't think it's as severe as it looked," Wilson said after the game. "I have good mobility. ... You always feel better when you win."
Wilson, who has been battling a right ankle injury since Week 1, threw for 233 yards in the first half and finished 15 for 23 for 243 yards and a touchdown overall. He has yet to miss a start in his five-year NFL career.
