Seahawks vs. Rams marks a third time matching up for these NFC West foes this season. This time, it's all on the line in the wild-card round of the 2021 NFL playoffs.

Three-seed Seattle hosts six-seed Los Angeles at 4:40 p.m. ET on Saturday, Jan. 9. The game will be broadcast on Fox, and it'll be the rubber match after the Rams won the first meeting of the season only for Seattle to bounce back and win part two.

The narrative leading up to the game will surround L.A. quarterback Jared Goff's right thumb. He broke it in Week 16 against the Seahawks and missed Week 17, forcing former CFL player John Wolford to start in his place. Wolford led the Rams to a win over the Cardinals, though, ensuring a spot in the playoffs anyway. Whether Goff can make it back could determine the outcome here.

Russell Wilson, DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett present a strong passing attack on the Seattle side. L.A. will hope to counter that with two defensive superstars, defensive tackle Aaron Donald and cornerback Jalen Ramsey. The Ramsey vs. Metcalf matchup is especially intriguing.

Wilson started the season in MVP form but hasn't been the same in the second half of the year. When Seattle lost to the Rams in November, Wilson threw two costly interceptions. It sounds obvious, but quarterback play could make all the difference here.
