DK Metcalf was having a big day in Detroit vs. the Lions on Sunday.

With time remaining in the fourth quarter, the Seahawks wide receiver hauled in seven catches for 149 yards. So, it must have been a scary sight for Seahawks fans to see their star receiver getting carted off the field in the fourth quarter.

Well, Seahawks fans can exhale in peace. The cart took him off without any preamble or signs or injury, and that's because he wasn't injured. Rather, Metcalf just had to got to the bathroom, per the Fox broadcast.

Jen Hale on Fox clarified why Metcalf was being carted off shortly after he left the field.

Metcalf made his triumphant return, courtesy of that same cart, minutes later.

Metcalf told reporters following the game that he had a "little tummy ache" and felt he needed to use the facilities while the Seahawks' defense was on the field. He said he didn't ask for the cart ride, but welcomed it when it was offered since the visiting locker room at Ford Field is quite a hike from the sidelines.

The scene was reminiscent of Lamar Jackson's alleged bathroom incident in 2020, when he left the field of play during "Monday Night Football" to make a quick trip to the locker room. Jackson has vehemently denied he was leaving to take a bathroom break, saying he wasn't "pulling a Paul Pierce," and John Harbaugh said at the time it was "cramping, but not the kind of cramping people were saying."

This honestly from the Seahawks is refreshing, honestly. When nature calls, if a guy's gotta go he's gotta go. Credit to Ford Field as well. That's pretty tremendous service. Metcalf was carted back onto the field on the same drive he left.

Metcalf offered an extremely simple explanation for why the cart was necessary.

Respect.
