Giants rookie quarterback Daniel Jones will be living life under a microscope this season, but Saquon Barkley has got his back.

Many Giants fans were upset the team drafted Jones No. 6 overall — most projections had him going much lower — and those fans will be looking for any reason they can find to criticize the former Duke star.

They found something to pounce on Friday during Giants' training camp when Jones took a snap, searched for a receiver, then sailed the ball out of bounds. Video of the play soon made the rounds on Twitter, eliciting plenty of snide comments, memes, etc.

The Twittering trolls didn't sit well with Barkley, the Giants second-year running back. He fired back at one tweet, explaining, "Lol our defense made a great play reading the bluff by our TE and he threw the ball away instead of forcing the pass... Lmao ppl swear they know football."

But Jones did get some love from fans at camp Friday, with some chanting, “We want Jones” as he took the field. The rookie got off to a rocky start. His first seven passes included four incompletions, an interception, a pass that was knocked down and a dropped pass.

Jones is slated to start the season behind veteran quarterback Eli Manning, but is expected to challenge for the position at some point.
