Sammy Watkins could return for the Bills before the end of the season, as Dr. James Andrews recommended the wide receiver not have a second surgery on his foot, the NFL Network reports.

SB Nation notes that wideouts Julian Edelman and Dez Bryant both saw seasons end prematurely when they underwent second surgeries for similar foot injuries. So this is certainly good news for Buffalo.
The Bills placed Watkins on injured reserve in late September, requiring him to miss at least eight games. The earliest he is allowed to return is for Buffalo’s Dec. 4 game at the Raiders.
