Bills receiver Sammy Watkins had offseason foot surgery, and although he did not re-break his foot, he did injure it again, according to the New York Daily News.
The Daily News' Manish Mehta writes, "There was a thought Sunday night that he could miss the rest of the season," although he believes the receiver will instead miss several weeks. Mehta adds, via sources, no surgical procedure can fix his issue.
MARVEZ: What stood out in Week 1
The report ties in with Adam Schefter's report from Sunday morning, in which the ESPN reporter said Watkins "is not 100 percent," adding, "In fact, about a week or so ago, that foot got tired on him during practice."
Watkins was targeted a team-high six times Sunday, catching four passes for 43 yards.
If Watkins is unable to go, the speedy Marquise Goodwin would be a guy to replace him for deep shots. Robert Woods, who was the only other receiver to get a target in Sunday's game, would also benefit. Tyrod Taylor would not be a very fantasy football-relevant quarterback during this period, assuming Watkins does miss time.
