Scram, Darnold.
Now-former Jets quarterback Sam Darnold took a bite of the Big Apple, but it turned out to be more than he could chew, and New York bit the bullet and shipped Darnold to Carolina on Monday for a bevvy of draft picks.
Darnold, who has largely been understated and California cool throughout his tumultuous NFL career, was caught on video seemingly reveling in the trade to the Panthers, surrounded by family and friends.
Personal QB coach Jordan Palmer posted a video of Darnold getting ready to party, complete with Carolina Panthers blue balloons and a Panthers hat, looking like he's crawled out of the same crap-smelling foulness that Andy Dufresne did in "The Shawshank Redemption."
Sam Darnold is PUMPED to be on the #Panthers...

MORE: Sam Darnold trade grades — Panthers bank on potential; Jets move on
Darnold enters the room to hootin' and hollerin', clearly surrounded by supportive family and friends, readying him for the next chapter of his career and a trip down to Charlotte.
Darnold, the 2018 No. 3 overall pick, had a rough go of it in New York, having to deal with Adam Gase, a questionable supporting cast and an infamous bout with mononucleosis in 2019.
The Panthers are clearly banking on Darnold's potential moving forward, while the Jets are seemingly ready to select a quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft.
While the jury's still out on Darnold, at least the welcoming committee is in.
