Jets quarterback Sam Darnold set the Internet on fire with an off-the-cuff comment during "Monday Night Football."
Darnold looked lost against the Patriots, throwing two interceptions in the first half as New England bolted to a 24-0 halftime lead. On the second pick, Darnold sailed a pass that was intercepted by safety Duron Harmon.
Darnold, who was mic'd up for the broadcast, sat on the sideline afterward pondering the play. And that's when he uttered two words he will probably come to regret.
"Seeing ghosts," Darnold said.
Sam Darnold is seeing ghosts.

The "MNF" crew picked up on the comment right away.
"Seeing ghosts?" play-by-play announcer Joe Tessitore asked.
"That's not good," said analyst Booger McFarland. "You hear what he said? They're (Patriots) going to keep bringing them."
Twitter reacted just as you'd expect, referencing and meming every ghostly reference short of Casper the Friendly Ghost.

Hey, you really can't blame Darnold for having visions, with the Patriots' defense playing like the ghost of the 1985 Bears' "Monsters of the Midway" defense.
