Ryan Leaf wants Bill Polian to make like a tree.
The former NFL quarterback is considered to be one of the league's most infamous draft busts. Selected second overall by the San Diego Chargers in the 1998 NFL Draft, Leaf was picked one behind Peyton Manning, who went on to have a pretty good NFL career.
History says that the Colts were faced with a difficult decision between Manning and Leaf at No. 1. Former Indy GM Bill Polian recently said that part of the decision to take Manning with the top pick was Leaf's pre-draft demeanor: Polian says that Leaf initially blew off a meeting, then had a less-than stellar sit-down with Colts brass.

Leaf denies it, calling Polian's retelling of the story a "f—ing lie:'
(Editor's note: Tweet contains offensive language.)
Well this is just a huge fucking lie. Why Bill Polian continues to spew this bullshit narrative is beyond me. Maybe he thinks it makes the story more compelling. Seems pretty compelling already, greatest QB ever, biggest bust ever. Doesn’t need ur shit editorializing Bill! https://t.co/p9keE2Jsma

Polian says that Leaf said he wouldn't join the team post-draft, instead planning a visit to Las Vegas with friends following the draft. Leaf vehemently denied that in his tweet.
Leaf would spend two years with San Diego and one year with Dallas before calling it a career. He has typically been self-aware and remembers his standing as one of the NFL's biggest draft busts.
Maybe Polian has some more remembering to do.
