ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski thinks the Eagles chose the right man to fill their head coaching void in current Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson. What Jaworski is really saying is that he thinks he made the right decision.

Jaworksi was part of the selection committee that included Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, president Don Smolenski and executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman.

"The goal was — this came right from Jeffrey Lurie, when we first got together (on the Saturday after Chip Kelly’s firing) — ‘I don’t care if it’s an offensive guy, a defensive guy, a special-teams guy, I want the best coach for the Philadelphia Eagles’," Jaworski said in a Philly.com article. "I think we got the best guy for the Philadelphia Eagles in Doug Pederson.”

Jaworski spent 10 years as the Eagles quarterback from 1977-1986, including three playoff appearances and an appearance in Super Bowl XV.

Jaworski began working for ESPN in 2006 as a color commentator on Monday Night Football broadcasts.
