Pete Carroll might have gotten the Seahawks in trouble.
The coach during an interview Monday on 710 ESPN in Seattle revealed that cornerback Richard Sherman dealt with an MCL injury for the second half of the season. NFL rules force teams to list injured players on the injury report, and the Seahawks might not have been totally transparent about Sherman's injury.
The NFL has received word of Carroll's comments and is investigating the situation, per NFL Media.

In 2009, the Jets got in trouble for not listing Brett Favre on the injury report when he had a torn biceps. As a result, the team was fined $75,000, and coach Eric Mangini was fined $25,000. The team admitted at the time it should have listed the quarterback as probable with the injury.
When asked why he didn't place Sherman on the injury report, Carroll said, "I don't know. I'm feeling like I screwed that up with not telling you that because that happened, but he was OK. So I don't know.
"He never missed anything, which is probably why."
Carroll says he never missed anything, but Sherman missed plenty of practices late in the season, and the team listed the reasoning as "not injury related."
