Coach Rex Ryan's position with the Bills is safe for now.
Owner Terry Pegula released a statement on behalf of the Bills that said the team looks forward to working with Ryan and general manager Doug Whaley in "forming a winning future for the organization."

"Our management team and coaching staff are very capable and work well together. This stable foundation is necessary to achieve long-term success in the NFL," the statement read.
Ryan's job security was in question after he failed to bring Buffalo to playoff contention, despite his lofty predictions at the beginning of his tenure in the spring.
Going into the final game of the regular season against the Jets on Sunday, the Bills are below .500 with a 7-8 record.
