Bills defensive linemen Marcell Dareus and Mario Williams registered a combined 24.5 sacks last year. This season, the pair is on pace for eight, less than they each had individually in 2014.
Part of the reason: Rex Ryan is calling plays that drop the linemen back in coverage.

Williams said he was "playing the call," essentially saying he doesn't like what's called, but he's going to go out and do it anyways. Dareus echoed Williams' concerns on Tuesday saying, "Hey, like (Williams) said, they pay us a lot of money. And we want to use our talents the best way we know how. If we're going to be dropping we don't want to get questions about not getting sacks. That's just how it is."
Ryan was asked about these comments Wednesday morning in London and said he's heard worse.
"I never put a muzzle on a player," Ryan said, via Yahoo Sports. "It's a free country. You're allowed to speak. In the heat of the battle, we're so competitive, and sometimes if things don't go well, you're searching for answers. All these guys want to do is help. They want to win.
"Shoot, I've been cussed at by better than them."
The Buffalo coach added, "I'm not perfect as a play-caller."
The Bills have seen a noticeable drop in the sack department. Through six games the team has nine sacks after registering an NFL-high 54 sacks as a team in 2014.
The Bills play the Jaguars in London on Sunday with a 9:30 a.m. ET kickoff.
