Report says Cardinals targeting Byron Murphy in the second round image

The NFL Draft resumes with rounds 2 and 3 on Friday, and it appears the Cardinals may already have a player in mind to select at No. 33 overall.

Washington cornerback Byron Murphy may not have to wait very long to hear his name called during the secound round, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Murphy, who was initially projected as a first-round pick by many, including SN's Vinnie Iyer, had seven interceptions in two seasons with the Huskies. He is a native of Scottsdale, Ariz., and if he does go to the Cardinals, it would be the second straight year they drafted an Arizona resident in the second round (Christian Kirk).

There was only one cornerback selected over Murphy in the first round — Georgia's DeAndre Baker.

It had been rumored that Arizona State wide receiver N'Keal Harry believed he wouldn't be on the board past the Cardinals selection, but he was taken No. 32 overall by the Patriots on Thursday, throwing a wrench into Arizona's potential plan.

Other potential picks for the Cardinals at No. 33 include offensive linemen Jawaan Taylor and Cody Ford and cornerback Greedy Williams.
