An MRI on Sunday revealed that Buffalo Bills rookie Reggie Ragland has a partially torn ACL in his left knee, according to ESPN.com.

The report said Ragland is scheduled to receive a second opinion Monday, which will determine how much time the rookie second-round pick is expected to miss.

Former Bills linebacker Brandon Spikes, who sat out all of last season, was just signed by the team Sunday for insurance purposes. It looks like he may be pressed into duty sooner than later. The Bills also signed ex-Saints linebacker David Hawthorne on Sunday.

Ragland injured himself while pursuing running back Reggie Bush toward the sideline on a play during Friday's practice. It wasn't immediately known how long he will be out, but if his knee needs surgery it would cost him the entire season.

To make matters worse, the Bills were already dealing with the loss of first-round pick Shaq Lawson for at least the start of the regular season after he underwent right shoulder surgery this spring.

Bills head coach Rex Ryan is considered a defensive genius, but even he has to be worried about all these injured playmakers.
