Former Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush is finally getting his Heisman Trophy back, according to a new report.
According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, Bush is "getting his 2005 Heisman Trophy back... with a formal "reinstatement" of the trophy coming today," he wrote on Wednesday morning.
Thamel adds that "the decision comes amid what the Heisman Trust calls 'enormous changes in the college football landscape."

"Personally, I'm thrilled to reunite with my fellow Heisman winners and be a part of the storied legacy of the Heisman Trophy, and I'm honored to return to the Heisman family," Bush said in a statement. "I also look forward to working together with the Heisman Trust to advance the values and mission of the organization."
Bush forfeited his Heisman Trophy back in 2010, but it was especially absurd to keep it from him in the wake of the massive changes college athletics has seen in recent years due to NIL.
Bush was taken in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints. He spent two years with Detroit (2013-14) and tallied over 1,500 scrimmage yards (1,006 rushing yards) in 2013.
