It's no secret that the Washington Redskins are in need of a quarterback.
Alex Smith may not play at all in 2019 and both Colt McCoy and free agent signing Case Keenum are far from assured the starting job.
It appears that the Redskins are having an internal dilemma of whether to address that need with the No. 15 overall pick on Thursday, as well as who to use it on.

According to ESPN's Dianna Russini, a pair of quarterbacks are in contention to be selected by the Redskins in the first round, if that's the route the team even chooses to go.
The biggest question mark in this scenario is if either will even be available when it is their turn to pick. Reports surfaced that the Redskins may consider trading up into the top five in order to take Ohio State's Haskins, who is believed to be the second quarterback who will come off the board in the draft after Kyler Murray. The Giants and Broncos are among the teams currently picking ahead of the Redskins that could also be targeting a quarterback. The Redskins are not only in disagreement about whether to go quarterback with their top pick but which quarterback to select. While we know by now that Bruce Allen and Dan Snyder are fixated on Dwayne Haskins, there is a case being pled for Duke QB Daniel Jones per sources

It seems like no matter what, Washington will be aggressive on Thursday, as Snyder might be planning something similar to when he traded up for Robert Griffin III in 2012.
If the Redskins don't go for a quarterback in the first round, they do possess the No. 46 overall pick and a pair of third-round selections, giving them options on Friday.Just talked to a Redskins source who told me Dan Snyder has "taken over the first round of the draft."

The last time that happened the Redskins traded two future No. 1's and a No. 2 to move up for Robert Griffin.
