Jay Gruden understands there's a lot at stake when the winless Redskins visit the Giants this week.

But when asked if he thinks he's coaching for his job, Gruden said he's just taking things one game at a time.

"Uh, no I haven't felt like that, but who knows," he said, per ESPN. "I'm just trying to concentrate on the Giants."

Gruden, who has guided the Redskins to the playoffs just once during his six-year tenure, added that he doesn't plan on making any changes to his staff this year, either.

"We've played three games against three playoff teams and we haven't played our best ball yet. I anticipate we're going to get better," he said. "I still feel like we have time, and these guys will come together. We have a strong locker room down there, and I feel like we're doing some good things. We just got to put it all together more consistently."

That goes for the quarterback position as well, as Gruden insisted rookie Dwayne Haskins isn't ready to start under center just yet.

"I know everybody wants to say, ‘It’s over,’ and, ‘The season’s over; go ahead and play Haskins.’ But we feel confident we can turn this thing around," Gruden said, via the Washington Post.

"If we feel like Dwayne gives us the best chance to win in a coming game, we’ll definitely put Dwayne out there. If we feel like it’s Colt, when he gets healthy, it could be Colt. But right now we feel like it’s Case Keenum, and we’re going to move forward with him this week."

With a visit from the Patriots looming in Week 5, the Redskins face a must-win situation against the Giants on Sunday if they hope to avoid their first 0-5 start since 2001.
