Ray Lewis took to Twitter on Monday to apologize to Joe Flacco for criticizing the Ravens quarterback’s personality and lack of passion.
The apology is classic Ray Lewis — sincere and, yes, passionate.

"I've got to say this man-to-man, from my heart," Lewis says in a video to his former teammate recorded while he appears to be driving. “Let me tell you something, man. I'm a Raven for life, but Joe Flacco, what I was talking about, my brother, it wasn't even about you, it wasn't even personal.
"It was just me being frustrated watching something that I had control over for so many years, which was men and inspiring them to go on and do things. And guess what? Like everybody else, I lashed out at the quarterback. … Brother, your personality is what it is."
Lewis continued, "You’ll never hear it again. Sorry for calling out your name and for putting it in context of making you try to be anything like I am or anything that you’re not."

Lewis laments the “tough loss" Baltimore suffered in Dallas on Sunday but speaks pridefully about how he and Flacco “carried each other” to a victory in Super Bowl XLVII.
Flacco initially brushed off Lewis’ criticism, but at least he can prepare for the Ravens’ next game, at home Sunday against the Bengals, knowing his Hall of Famer-to-be ex-teammate has his back.
