Lamar Jackson is looking to shake off some of the ghosts from playoffs past as he leading the Ravens through the 2024 postseason.
The 27-year-old quarterback brings a 1-3 career playoff record into the top-seeded Ravens' divisional round matchup with the Texans at 4:30 p.m. ET Saturday. Still, Jackson has had plenty of success in his career, winning the NFL MVP award in 2019 and the Heisman Trophy in 2016.
One problem Jackson has dealt with: Injuries, including at the end of the 2021 and 2022 seasons. In 2021, the Ravens missed out on the playoffs in part due to Jackson's ankle injury, which sidelined him for the final four games of the season. The next season, a knee injury kept him out of the last five regular-season games and a wild-card loss to the Bengals.
Here's what to know about who could be taking the field if Jackson goes down during the 2024 postseason.
Who is the Ravens' backup quarterback?
Lamar Jackson's backup is Tyler Huntley, who played his collegiate career at Utah.
The 25-year-old quarterback recorded a completion rate of 67.2% at Utah, and he passed for 7,351 yards with 46 touchdowns and 20 interceptions over four years. He led the Utes to two Pac-12 South Division titles in 2018 and 2019.
While Huntley went undrafted, he signed with Baltimore in 2020. He has played in 20 games, completing 221 of his 342 passing attempts for a completion rate of 64.6%, as well as 1,957 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions.
During the 2023 regular season, he appeared in five contests, completing 21 of 37 passing attempts (56.8%) for 203 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions.
Huntley has had success in place of an injured Jackson before, earning Pro Bowl honors in 2022. He played in six games that season, completing 67% of his passes for 658 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.
Ravens QB depth chart
The Ravens have four quarterbacks on their roster, including Jackson and Huntley as well as Josh Johnson and Malik Cunningham.
The team added Cunningham as their fourth quarterback in December. As a redshirt freshman during Jackson's last season at Louisville in 2017, Cunningham is familiar with the Ravens' starter, and the Baltimore coaching staff see "future" potential in the 25-year-old.
Johnson, 37, is a veteran option for the team, but both he and Huntley will be free agents in the offseason.
Here is Baltimore's depth chart at quarterback heading into the playoffs.
