The Los Angeles Rams will have some new coaches roaming the sidelines at OTAs and minicamp this summer. As part of the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship program, the Rams will have four additional coaches from now until the end of minicamp on June 12.
The Rams announced their four coaching fellows this week: C.J. Cox (working with outside linebackers), Jamil Douglas (offensive line), Will Blackmon (defensive backs), and Kwesi Drake (defensive line).
Cox was recently hired at UAB by Trent Dilfer to be their safeties coach after coaching defensive backs at Kent State and Montana. He is part of the AFCA's 35 under 35 list for the fastest-rising young coaches in the country.
You may remember Jamil Douglas as a fourth-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. Douglas bounced around a handful of teams from 2015 to 2022 and won a Super Bowl with the Patriots in their infamous 28-3 comeback in Super Bowl LI.
Blackmon is another former NFL player, spending 10 years in the league with the Packers, Giants, Jaguars, and Washington. Blackmon also has a Super Bowl to his name with the Giants in Super Bowl XLVI. Drake coaches at Jones College as the defensive line coach and is entering his sixth season as the Bobcats defensive line coach.
