The Lions were embarrassed at the hands of the Ravens in Week 7. They will look to bounce back in Week 8 and get a solid spot in which to do it.

The Lions are set to play the Raiders, who are coming off a crushing, 30-12 defeat against the Bears. Las Vegas' defense struggled to contain D'Onta Foreman and saw undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent fare well in his first-ever start.

The Raiders will only face more of a challenge going up against a Detroit offense that has Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jahmyr Gibbs and Sam LaPorta as its primary weapons. Even if Vegas' top pass rusher, Maxx Crosby, has a big game, it may not be enough to slow down what has been a largely efficient, Jared Goff-led group.

For the Raiders to stay in this game, Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers are going to have to take advantage of a banged-up Lions secondary. Of course, that won't necessarily be easy if Jimmy Garoppolo (back) can't play or is at less than 100 percent. But still, there is at least a glimmer of hope for the team.

If the Lions can improve to 6-2 before their Week 9 bye, it should set them up well to continue to be the team to beat in the NFC North moving forward. They already are, as it stands, and just need to continue to keep the Vikings, Packers and Bears while focusing on battling for the NFC's No. 1 seed.
