The Las Vegas Raiders held their second session of organized team activities (OTAs) on Tuesday and it was the first session that was open to the media. There were a few notable injury updates on the day, also.
Second-round pick and guard, Jackson Powers-Johnson, left practice early with an unspecified injury after getting banged-up during the session, according to Tashan Reed of The Athletic.
He did not return and his injury was not revealed, but chances are the Raiders pulled him out of precaution. Hopefully we'll know more in the days to come.
In addition, Reed reports that left tackle Kolton Miller worked on the side field and did not take part in drills. As Reed notes, that's usually a sign that a player is working through injury, although it remains unknown what he's dealing with.
Along with Miller, running backs Zamir White and Ameer Abdullah, wide receivers Michael Gallup, Davante Adams, Jalen Guyton and Tulu Griffin (UDFA), defensive linemen Ron Stone (UDFA), Matthew Butler and Nesta Jade Silvera, linebacker Darien Butler and cornerback Jack Jones did not participate.
According to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Adams was in the building during the session, so don't read too much into that. We didn't get an update on the others, so it's unclear what their reasons for sitting out were, but it's important to note that participation is not mandatory for this portion of OTAs.
