After being away from the game for four seasons, former Las Vegas Raiders first-round pick and cornerback Gareon Conley is attempting an NFL comeback.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Conley has inked a contract with the Dallas Cowboys. The length and financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Conley was a first-round pick (No. 24 overall) of the Raiders in 2017 and spent two-plus years with the team, starting in 20 of the 23 games he played in. He was then traded to the Houston Texans in 2019 before playing in eight contests (six starts).
But those eight games were the last ones he would play in. Conley landed on injured reserve prior to the start of the 2020 campaign after having offseason ankle surgery earlier in the year.
He has not played in the NFL since because of lingering ankle issues. He most recently played in the United Football League in 2024 with the DC Defenders.
