Recently, former NFL wide receiver DeSean Jackson stated that he knows Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams "isn't happy" with the team after speaking to him, but the three-time first-team All-Pro shot that down on Wednesday.
Jackson made the comment on "The Herd with Colin Cowherd" and made it sound like he heard it straight from Adams. Apparently, he did not.
“This one’s tough because me and Davante, we’ve talked, and I hate to do it because I don’t want to be the guy that’s ‘Oh, D-Jax said this and said that,' but at the end of the day [Davante] isn’t happy,’ Jackson said. “You go from Aaron Rodgers, then you come to the Las Vegas Raiders… and it just didn’t quite work out and so now I just don’t think he’s really that happy there.”
After practice on Wednesday, Adams said he has only spoken to Jackson "maybe three or four times" in his life and has "never had a conversation with him."
"I've probably spoken to DeSean Jackson maybe three or four times in my life and I never had a conversation with him. Ever. And I put that on my kids," Adams told ESPN's Paul Gutierrez. "Whatever you see, if it ain't from the horse's mouth, it's probably b-------."
Adams went on to further dispel the idea that he isn't happy in Las Vegas.
"In terms of me being upset or not being happy in this organization, it's just a bunch of BS that's just meant to throw everybody off and get click bait," Adams added. "If I was pissed off, I mean, I wouldn't be here right now."
Well, there you have it: Davante Adams is not unhappy.
If Adams really wanted out of Las Vegas right now, he would have demanded a trade. He's clearly intent on giving it a go with the Raiders in 2024, but that could certainly change if the team struggles mightily in the first half of the season.
