The Las Vegas Raiders made a much-needed addition to their wide receivers room in free agency after the 2024 NFL Draft with the signing of former Dallas Cowboys wideout, Michael Gallup — and another former Cowboy approves.
Former Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant, whose tenure with Dallas ended just one year before the team took Gallup in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, is high on the new Raiders wide receiver.
As things stand now, the best Gallup can hope for is to be No. 3 on the depth chart, but Bryant thinks he can contribute more than that.
“That’s a great pick up, I think Davante Adams is going to like him," Bryant said to Mike Dixon of Vegas Sports Today. "He’s more than just a three.”
Dez also complimented the Raiders' decision to keep head coach Antonio Pierce after a successful interim stint last season.
"I think what the Raiders are doing with coach Pierce... I love what he's doing over there. He’s exactly what the Raiders need," Bryant said of Pierce. "They have great leadership with Maxx Crosby and Adams."

Gallup was once the Cowboys' No. 2 wide receiver and had a two-year stretch where he tallied 1,950 receiving yards and 11 scores, including a 2019 campaign that saw him finish with a career-high 1,107 yards.
But Gallup's career took a bad turn the past three years because of injury and he hasn't totaled more than 445 yards or four scores in a single campaign in that span. He's now hoping to rebound in Las Vegas.
Despite Bryant's belief that Gallup can be that high in the pecking order, it's unlikely to happen, barring injury. Las Vegas' clear top-two receivers are Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers. Gallup will be No. 3, at best.
