The Las Vegas Raiders' preseason Week 3 game against the San Francisco 49ers ended in a 24-24 tie thanks to there being no overtime in exhibition play, but the game had quite the wild finish.
With the game tied in the closing seconds, 49ers signal-caller Tanner Mordecai chucked a Hail Mary that was tipped up by a Raiders defender and landed into the hands of wide receiver Trent Taylor, who couldn't find any room to run to score the game-winning touchdown.
So Taylor lateraled the ball back to a teammate, who wasn't able to come up with it and ended up kicking it back to an offensive lineman, who then barely got a lateral off to the same player who kicked it to him.
That player then got the ball back into the hands of the player who started the play with it, but the Niners' bid for a miracle score officially ended when Mordecai threw a forward pass.
That didn't stop the Niners from trying to score, though, and they nearly crossed the goal line, although it wouldn't have counted.

This is what the play-by-play feed on ESPN.com read:

PENALTY on SF-T.Mordecai, Illegal Forward Pass, 0 yards, enforced at LV 32.
Talk about playing until the final whistle.
When compared to most preseason finales, the Raiders and Niners actually had one of the more entertaining ones, with several big plays throughout. That makes the ending quite fitting.
