Have you ever had 18 tackles in a game? If you did, you're telling it like Al Bundy.
Atlanta Falcons right inside linebacker Donavan Mutin had 18 tackles (13 solo) Friday night in the final preseason contest of 2024 against QB Trevor Lawrence’s led Jacksonville Jaguars.

There is quite the difference between QB1 Trevor Lawrence & QB3 Taylor Heinicke if you know what I’m saying… For that reason and that reason alone, a Falcons W was going to be hard to come by Friday. Hell, all the Jaguars played for quite some time. Watching Josh Allen and Travon Walker against backup Tackles was frightening in itself.
Falcons head coach Raheem Morris on the decision to not play any starters in preseason games: "We'll continue that philosophy as long as I'm the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons."

The amount of good tape that came from this for the Falcons defensive staff to review before roster cuts is invaluable, priceless. Bubble players like cornerbacks Kevin King & Natrone Brooks got starting looks against a starting offense.
Does the 23-year-old, 3x Houston Cougar Captain Mutin make the team? No.
Kaden Elliss, Troy Andersen, Nate Landman, & rookie JD Bertrand will fill a room up fast in most places. LILB Milo Eifler is in a similar boat as Mutin trying to make the team or get a PS spot.
Practice Squad can come calling again (2023 member) after Player of the Game performances in the preseason like this and leading the team in solo and total tackles. A definitive last impression. If not for Atlanta, someone else…
