Pittsburgh Steelers' biggest takeaways from Sunday training camp practice image

After taking a break from the pads on Saturday afternoon following their "Friday Night Lights" practice the day before, the Pittsburgh Steelers got their full gear back on for Sunday's session in Latrobe.

After being stuck in neutral all last week, quarterback Russell Wilson finally did more on Sunday, although it was just a little bit more. Fellow signal-caller Justin Fields remained at the helm of the first-team offense once again.

"I'm feeling really good right now," Wilson said on Saturday. "I think Coach Tomlin wants me to be smart. Face it, it's been nine days since injury. So, but I'm out there getting all the reps in terms of fundamental work and then one-on-ones and routes on air, and then obviously seven on seven, too."

In other injury news, rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson showed signs of progress just days after spraining his ankle, which is great news for his ability to be ready for Week 1.

We'll go over that and much more in our biggest takeaways from the Steelers latest training camp practice based on beat writer observations.

Progress for Roman Wilson

Russell Wilson does more work

It wasn't much, but Russell Wilson did more than he has at any training camp practice this year after he actually threw a pass during the 11-on-11 portion of practice. Before Sunday, he had only handed the ball off in that period.

Wilson had two reps in 11-on-11, with both coming with the third team. His other rep was a handoff.
