Players on the Pittsburgh Steelers will begin to favor one of their two quarterbacks, Russell Wilson or Justin Fields, as the NFL regular season grows ever closer.
One star speaking out in support of the veteran Wilson is pass rusher T.J. Watt. The 2021 Defensive Player of the Year is the anchor of Pittsburgh's defense, meaning his praise comes with serious value.
He shared on the "Up & Adams" show with Kay Adams what aspect of Wilson's leadership he admires most.
"I'd say consistency, honestly," Watt said. "When a guy like that comes into the building, he's kind of this bigger-than-life character. And then, when you see him in the building, you don't know if what you've seen online is real. When he came into the building, he has been so consistent with his work and his positivity. [He] hasn't gotten too high or too low, that's what you want to see."

Wilson seems to be the favorite to land the starting job within the organization, but Fields is taking a heavy lead in the public's eye as he's gotten the first-team reps with Wilson limited while working his way back from a calf injury.
It's hard to say how much head coach Mike Tomlin will consider the opinions of his stars, such as Watt and wide receiver George Pickens, but the decision is ultimately his.
If Wilson falters, which most figure is possible, Pittsburgh may have Fields under center full time by the end of the season.
