Despite still being months until kickoff of the first NFL game of the new year, some bettors are already getting their wagers in on the season to come.
While there’s still plenty of bets left to make before the start of the year, the Pittsburgh Steelers are drawing quite a bit of early interest from bettors.
Making matters more interesting is the fact that bettors seem to be excited to be betting both on and against the Steelers ahead of their 2024 campaign.
Per BetMGM’s John Ewing, the Steelers currently have the most bet win total in the NFL on both sides of the wager.

Oddsmakers have set the Steelers’ win total for the 2024 season at 7.5, meaning they would need to go at least 8–9 on the year for over bettors to cash.
It’s no surprise that the Steelers’ over win total is a popular bet. Head coach Mike Tomlin, who has been with the team since 2007 and just signed an extension to keep him in Pittsburgh through 2027, has never led the team to a losing record. If you have faith in Tomlin, Steelers over is likely the easiest win total bet of the year.
On the other side, those betting the under could be looking at several key factors. The AFC North has only gotten more daunting over the past few seasons, with the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cleveland Browns all contenders in the conference.
Taking a look at the Steelers’ final stretch of the season, it’s not hard to imagine a long losing streak to end the year if things aren’t going well.

It’s certainly a gauntlet to end the year, but if anyone can steer the team safely through the rough waters, it’s Tomlin.
The Steelers will kick off their 2024 campaign on September 8 with a road game against the Atlanta Falcons.
