Every single year, NFL fans get worked up over player ratings in the Madden NFL video game, but the players themselves are not much different, as evidenced by the reaction from Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens to his own rating.
According to the Madden NFL 25 website, Pickens has been given an 83 overall rating, which ranks tied for 33rd among wide receivers.
Making his rating look worse is the fact that the third-year wideout has a lower rating than the Jacksonville Jaguars' Gabe Davis, the Denver Broncos' Courtland Sutton, the Baltimore Ravens' Zay Flowers, and the New York Jets' Mike Williams, all of whom he's outproduced over the past two seasons.
Upon learning of his rating, Pickens took to Instagram to share his reaction, and it wasn't a happy one. (H/T Steelers Depot).

Pickens is coming off a career-best campaign in 2023 in which he tallied career-highs in receiving yards (1,140) and touchdowns (five). If he had competent quarterback play, Pickens could've really had a monster season.
The good news is, things should be better on that front this coming season, as the team has brought in both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.
And, if either of those signal-callers can prove to be an upgrade, Pickens should be in store for a huge third season and, in turn, will likely see his Madden NFL 25 rating go up as the season progresses.
