The Detroit Lions are backing up the Brinks truck and then some right before the 2024 NFL Draft, with the team locking up both wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and right tackle Penei Sewell to massive extensions.
Just hours after signing St. Brown to a four-year contract worth more than $120 million, with $77 million guaranteed, Detroit then inked Sewell to a four-year, $112 million pact that includes $85 million guaranteed.
Both of the deals were record-setting at their respective positions, with Brown's and Sewell's both owning the highest annual average and guaranteed money.
As was the case with the reaction to St. Brown's deal, Sewell's massive extension was well-received. The All-Pro tackle even took to social media to share his reaction to the deal. Keep scrolling to see that and more.

It is awesome the Lions have locked up extensions with both Amon-Ra St. Brown and Penei Sewell.

Those have been arguably the two most important players in turning that organization from a laughingstock to a legitimate Super Bowl contender entering the 2024 season.
Penei Sewell is the best offensive lineman in the league and he's now the highest-paid OL with a four-year, $112 million extension.

Amon-Ra St. Brown is one of the best wide receivers in the league today and he's now the highest paid WR with a four-year, $120 million.
Now,…
What a message to send though to not only your team but the prospects about to come to Detroit.
