While the New England Patriots are set to start training camp this week, they were looking at some veterans to add to the roster.
On Monday, the Patriots hosted six players for workouts - Jack Anderson, Gary Brightwell, Demetric Felton, Jaleel Johnson and Mike Panasiuk.
Anderson, 25, is an offensive lineman who was a seventh-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in 2021. He's also spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants, Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars, appearing in 15 games and starting three in his three seasons.
Bright, 25, is a running back who was a sixth-round pick of the New York Giants in 2021 out of Arizona. He's rushed for 161 yards and a touchdown on four yards per carry while adding another 92 yards on 11 receptions in his three seasons.
Felton, 26, is a running back who was a sixth-round selection of the Cleveland Browns in 2021 out of UCLA. He's also spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals and rushed for 20 yards on 2.5 yards per carry while adding another 189 yards and two touchdowns on 20 receptions.
Johnson, 30, is a defensive end who was a fourth-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2017 out of Iowa. He's also spent time with the Houston Texans, New Orleans, Atlanta Falcons and Tennessee Titans. He's appeared in 86 games over his seven seasons, recording 149 tackles (11 for a loss), 13 quarterback hits, 7.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble.
Panasiuk, 26, is an offensive lineman who went undrafted out of Michigan State. He spent some time with the Carolina Panthers and the St. Louis Battlehawks of the UFL. He started 10 games for the Battlehawks this year and was named All-UFL which comes after an All-XFL season with the team last year.
