The New England Patriots are in the middle of their mandatory minicamp, with Tuesday being an off-day spent doing community work.
On Monday, there was one player in attendance who isn't officially on the roster - wide receiver Rory Starkey Jr, who is participating in the minicamp as a tryout, according to Doug Kyed.
Starkey went undrafted this year and tried out for the Patriots at their organized team activities after spending his collegiate career at Samford and Pennsylvania.
He spent his first five seasons at Pennsylvania, playing in three of them and recording 119 receptions for 1,549 yards and 14 touchdowns in 27 games. Then, after moving to Samford as a graduate student, he played in 11 games in 2023, bringing in 27 passes for 204 yards.
New England already has a loaded wide receiver room, but they're always looking to add more talent.
