Ben Watson is back.

The Patriots released the veteran tight end last week in a move that quarterback Tom Brady called "pretty tough," but ESPN reported he is expected to re-sign with the team.

Watson was never activated to the roster following his four-game suspension and the team opted to just release him after his roster exemption expired, though it appears they've had a change of heart.

The Patriots also got reinforcements with the return of rookie wide receiver N'Keal Harry, who participated in his first regular-season practice Tuesday.

NFL Media reported later Tuesday that the Patriots are also adding former Giants and Jets tight end Eric Tomlinson for extra insurance.

New England's offense was limited in last Thursday's win over the Giants in the wake of injuries to tight end Matt LaCosse and fullback Jakob Johnson, but should be back to full strength this week.

The Patriots (6-0) will visit the Jets (1-4) at 1 p.m. ET.
