On Wednesday, the New England Patriots hit the practice fields at Gillette Stadium for their fifth day of organized team activities.

Head coach Jerod Mayo said prior to the session that the team would be working on everything, and that's exactly what the members of the media (who were in attendance for just the second time) saw.

What they didn't see, however, was a number of players who were absent from the OTA on Wednesday. Here's who wasn't in attendance (via. Chris Mason):

  • QB Joe Milton III
  • WR Kendrick Bourne
  • LB Matthew Judon
  • OL Zuri Henry
  • OL Jake Andrews
  • OL Cole Strange
  • DL Christian Barmore
  • DL Davon Godchaux
  • DL Sam Roberts
  • LB Sione Takitaki
  • LB Jahlani Tavai
  • LB Joshua Uche
  • CB Jonathon Jones

According to Mason, a couple of former Patriots coaches took in practice, as Steve Belichick (now defensive coordinator of the Washington Huskies) and Ivan Fears (now retired) were on the field. Former Patriots defensive back Patrick Chung (who played for the team from 2009-12 and 2014-20) was also watching.

QB Stats:

Quarterbacks in 7-on-7s (via. Doug Kyed):

  • Jacoby Brissett: 7-for-8
  • Bailey Zappe: 4-for-6 with an interception
  • Drake Maye: 12-for-14

Quarterbacks in 11-on-11s (via. Kyed):

  • Brissett: 6-for-7
