For the first time this offseason, the New England Patriots rookies and veterans hit the practice fields adjacent to Gillette Stadium and got to work under new head coach Jerod Mayo's instruction.

Here's what those in attendance noted about New England's first organized team activity session on Monday.

7-on-7 drills (via. Andrew Callahan):

  • Jacoby Brissett got the majority of the team's reps at quarterback during the period. Bailey Zappe, Drake Maye and Joe Milton split the rest evenly.
  • Brissett and Zappe completed 50% of their targets, while the other two hit all of them.
  • New acquisition K.J. Osborn had a drop.

11-on-11 drills (via. Callahan and Chris Mason):

  • Reps were split - Brissett (eight), Zappe (four) and Maye (three).
  • Brissett completed 83% of his passes, Maye completed 67% and Zappe completed his solo attempt.
  • New England's offensive line had multiple people rotating, but the top line included Chukwuma Okorafor, Sidy Sow, David Andrews, Nick Leverett and Mike Onwenu.

  • Rookie wideouts Javon Baker and Ja'Lynn Polk stayed late to work with Maye.
