The New England Patriots have made a number of mistakes in recent seasons, but one of the biggest was taking wide receiver N'Keal Harry with the final pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft.
After failing to reach the end of his rookie deal with the Patriots, Harry is now on the Minnesota Vikings, and he's moving positions. Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell explained this week that Harry is transitioning to tight end after spending his first five seasons in the league at wideout.
Harry has always been a productive blocker at wideout, but now he'll be tasked with taking on edge rushers, and that's a much different animal.
During his time with New England, many hoped that Harry would be another weapon that Tom Brady desperately needed, the wideout struggled to get caught up after starting the year on injured reserve.
Then, Brady left the following offseason, and Harry didn't get any better with Cam Newton, Jarrett Stidham or Mac Jones under center.
Eventually, New England traded him to the Chicago Bears for the seventh-round pick. This ended his Patriots tenure with just 57 receptions for 598 yards and four touchdowns in 33 games played over three seasons.
Moving to a new position seems like the last chance for Harry to make an impact in the NFL, and he'll have to prove that he deserves a spot over guys who have been playing that position for years. It'll be a tough task to say the least.
