Promise made, promise kept.
Patriots receiver Julian Edelman, who as he headed off to the NFL 10 years ago told his parents that he would graduate from college, will do just that this weekend at Kent State.
"This Saturday, I will be walking with my fellow Kent State graduates completing what I started back in '06," Edelman wrote Thursday on Twitter with a photo of himself as a Golden Flashes player. "I want to set a great example for my daughter, and complete a promise I made to my parents over 10 years ago."

Edelman, 32, was a quarterback at Kent State from 2006-08 before the Patriots took him in the seventh round (232nd overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft.
He was the MVP of this year's Super Bowl victory with 10 catches for 141 yards against the Rams, the third championship he has won with New England.
In 115 NFL games over nine seasons, Edelman has 499 receptions for 5,390 yards and 30 touchdowns.
At Kent State, he passed for 30 touchdowns and nearly 5,000 yards. According to KentWired.com, Edelman is listed in the student directory as a senior integrated studies major.
Commencement on Saturday will cap an eventful seven days for Edelman, who joined Pats teammate and friend Tom Brady and coach Bill Belichick at the Kentucky Derby last weekend and then on Monday went with Brady and his wife, Gisele, to the Metropolitan Gala in New York.
