The New England Patriots have an extremely important to decision to make on Thursday that could change the future of their franchise for years to come.
De facto general manager Eliot Wolf could either stay and make a selection with the third overall pick in this week's draft or make a trade to acquire more capital.
According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, New England is taking calls and listening from other teams, but Wolf isn't the only one involved. Russini reports that while Wolf is "running point," team president Jonathan Kraft is "heavily involved in the decision-making."
While it is imperative that the Patriots make the best decision for the team and their long-term future, it's probably for the best to have the football people make the football decisions. That's how teams become the Dallas Cowboys. And, we all know how much Robert Kraft doesn't want to be compared to Jerry Jones.
