24 days till Patriots season opener: Every player to wear No. 24 for New England image

The New England Patriots will open their 2024 campaign against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium on Sunday, September 8 at 1:00 p.m. ET, which is now 24 days away.

Until the opening kickoff of the season for the Patriots, we'll be counting down each day by looking back at those who have worn each specific jersey number.

Since 1960, 23 players have worn No. 24 in New England, and with 24 days until their first game of the year, here's a look at everyone who's worn the number for the team:

DB Joshuah Bledsoe: 2022-Present

  • Has appeared in four games over his first two seasons, recording one tackle
  • Competing for a depth roster/practice spot

DB Stephon Gilmore: 2017-20

  • Appeared in 56 games for New England over four seasons, recording 185 tackles (three for a loss), 52 passes defensed, 11 interceptions, three forced fumbles, two fumbles recovered and a sack
  • Won a Super Bowl and Defensive Player of the Year and made three Pro Bowls and two All-Pros with the Patriots
  • Also played for the Buffalo Bills (made a Pro Bowl), Carolina Panthers (made a Pro Bowl), Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys 

DB Cyrus Jones: 2016

  • Appeared in 12 games over two seasons, recording seven tackles and two fumble recoveries and returned 16 punts for 91 yards and eight kicks for 180 yards
  • Won a Super Bowl with the Patriots
  • Also played for the Baltimore Ravens

DB Bradley Flecther: 2015

  • Appeared in two games over one season, recording 10 tackles and a forced fumble
  • Also played for the St. Louis Rams and Philadelphia Eagles

DB Rashaan Melvin: 2015

  • Appeared in eight games for New England in one season, recording six tackles
  • Also played for the Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, Carolina Panthers, Detroit Lions and Oakland Raiders

DB Darrelle Revis: 2014

  • Appeared in 16 games for New England in one season, recording 47 tackles (two for a loss), 14 passes defensed, two interceptions, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery
  • Won a Super Bowl and made an All-Pro and a Pro Bowl for the Patriots
  • Also played for the New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame

DB Kyle Arrington: 2011-12

  • Appeared in 86 games for New England over six seasons, recording 334 tackles (eight for a loss), 48 passes defensed, nine interceptions, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and three sacks
  • Won a Super Bowl with the Patriots
  • Also played for the Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers

DB Jonathan Wilhite: 2008-10

  • Appeared in 39 games for New England over three seasons, recording 93 tackles (one for a loss), nine passes defensed, three interceptions and a fumble recovery
  • Also played for the Denver Broncos

DB Mel Mitchell: 2007

  • Appeared in 10 games for New Egland in one season, recording 11 tackles
  • Also played for the New Orleans Saints

DB Michael Stone: 2005

  • Appeared in 13 games for New England in one season, recording 46 tackles (two for a loss)
  • Also played for the Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans

DB Ty Law: 1995-2004

  • Appeared in 141 games for New England over 10 seasons, recording 638 tackles (12 for a loss), 65 passes defensed, 36 interceptions, four sacks, four fumble recoveries and three forced fumbles
  • Won three Super Bowls and made four Pro Bowls and one All-Pro with the Patriots
  • Also played for the Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets and Denver Broncos
  • Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame

RB Jon Vaughn: 1991-92

  • Appeared in 32 games for New England over two seasons, rushing for 597 yards and three touchdowns on 4.1 yards per attempt and catching 22 passes for 173 yards
  • Also played for the Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs

RB Jamie Morris: 1990

  • Appeared in five games for New England in one season, rushing for four yards on two attempts
  • Also played for Washington and returned 11 kicks for 202 yards

RB Bruce Hansen: 1987

  • Appeared in six games for New England in one season, rushing for 44 yards on 2.8 yards per attempt and catching one pass for 22 yards

RB Robert Weathers: 1982-86

  • Appeared in 44 games for New England over five seasons, rushing for 733 yards and four touchdowns on 4.6 yards per attempt and catching 29 passes for 268 yards

DB Bob Howard: 1975-77

  • Appeared in 41 games for New England over three seasons, recording 10 interceptions and a fumble recovery
  • Also played for the San Deigo Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles

RB Bob McCall: 1973

  • Appeared in eight games for New England in one season, rushing for 15 yards on 10 attempts and catching three passes for 18 yards

RB Bob Gladeieux: 1969-72

  • Appeared in 43 games for Boston/New England over four seasons, rushing for 239 yards and 3.7 yards per attempt and catching 25 passes for 252 yards
  • Also played for the Buffalo Bills

RB Bobby Leo: 1967-68

  • Appeared in three games for Boston over two seasons, returning seven punts for 66 yards and 11 kicks for 232 yards

DB Dick Felt: 1962-66

  • Appeared in 52 games for Boston over five seasons, recording 12 interceptions
  • Made an AFL All-Star with the Patriots
  • Also played for the New York Titans (made an AFL All-Star)

RB Joe Johnson: 1960-61

  • Appeared in 13 games for Boston, catching 20 passes for 268 yards and four touchdowns
  • Also played for the Green Bay Packers

RB Mel West: 1961

  • Appeared in four games for Boston, rushing for 90 yards on 3.5 yards per attempt and catching five passes for 42 yards
  • Also played for the New York Titans

RB Walt Livingston: 1960

  • Appeared in three games for Boston, rushing for 16 yards on 10 attempts
