The New England Patriots will open their 2024 campaign against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium on Sunday, September 8 at 1:00 p.m. ET, which is now one day away.

Until the opening kickoff of the season for the Patriots, we'll be counting down each day by looking back at those who have worn each specific jersey number.

Since 1960, 11 players have worn No. 1 in New England, and with one day until their first game of the year, here's a look at everyone who's worn the number for the team:

WR Ja'Lynn Polk: Present

  • Selected in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft
  • Expected to be one of the team's top receivers as a rookie 

WR DeVante Parker: 2022-23

  • Appeared in 26 games for New England over two seasons, catching 64 passes for 933 yards and three touchdowns
  • Also played for the Miami Dolphins

WR N'Keal Harry: 2021

  • Appeared in 33 games for New England over three seasons, catching 57 passes for 598 yards and four touchdowns
  • Also played for the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings

QB Cam Newton: 2020

  • Appeared in 15 games for New England in one season, completing 65.8% of his passes for 2,657 yards, eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions and rushing for 592 yards and 12 touchdowns
  • Also played for the Carolina Panthers (made three Pro Bowls and an All-Pro and won an NFL MVP)

K Tony Franklin: 1984-87

  • Appeared in 62 games for New England over four seasons, making 74.4% of his field goals and 98.2% of his extra points
  • Made a Pro Bowl with the Patriots
  • Also played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins

K Eric Schubert: 1987

  • Appeared in one game for New England in one season, making one of his two field goals and his lone extra point
  • Also played for the New York Giants and St. Louis Cardinals

K John Smith: 1974-83

  • Appeared in 116 games for New England over 10 seasons, making 67% of his field goals and 95.4% of his extra points
  • Made a Pro Bowl with the Patriots
